Tara Alexander is a Senior Officer of Philanthropy with Heart & Stroke in British Columbia and Yukon, where she leads major gift strategy, donor stewardship, and signature fundraising initiatives, including the organization’s biennial gala. She works closely with donors, volunteers, and community partners to advance meaningful investments in cardiovascular and brain health research.
Tara’s commitment to this work is deeply personal. After losing her father to a hemorrhagic stroke ten years ago, she was drawn to Heart & Stroke’s mission and has since dedicated her career to improving outcomes for others at risk. This experience continues to shape her approach—bringing empathy, authenticity, and a strong sense of purpose to every donor relationship.
She is particularly passionate about closing gaps in women’s heart and brain health, championing initiatives that drive awareness, equity, and innovation in care. Tara is known for her thoughtful, personalized approach to philanthropy—grounded in meaningful storytelling, authentic engagement, and a deep commitment to donor experience.
An active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Vancouver, Tara is dedicated to continuous learning and collaboration across the sector. She brings a strategic mindset, attention to detail, and a genuine ability to connect people to purpose in ways that inspire lasting impact.
