Tanya Rumble, MPNL, CFRE, CMP, MFA-P™ (she/her/elle) is a nationally recognized fundraising executive and thought leader with nearly 15 years of experience leading high-performing teams and securing transformative philanthropic investments for organizations including Toronto Metropolitan University, McMaster University, the Canadian Cancer Society, and Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Currently Executive Director, Development for University-Wide Initiatives at Toronto Metropolitan University, Tanya leads strategic, institution-wide fundraising initiatives that advance innovation, equity, and excellence in post-secondary education. Her work focuses on building values-aligned partnerships and stewarding complex gifts that support community-driven impact.
Tanya is also the co-founder of Recast Philanthropy, a consultancy dedicated to advancing equity-centred, ethical, and restorative approaches to fundraising and philanthropy. Through facilitation, training, and policy work, she challenges traditional donor-centric models and supports organizations in navigating power, accountability, and justice in philanthropic practice.
Her writing and commentary have appeared in The Philanthropist, Advancing Philanthropy, and University Affairs, and she is a frequent keynote speaker at national and international conferences. Tanya has a Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Carleton University, is a CFRE, holds multiple professional designations, and serves in several national advisory and governance roles.
