About me
With more than 20 years in the non-profit sector, Angel Benedict, CFRE, has made a career out of fundraising, storytelling, and gently (and sometimes not-so-gently) reminding people why this work matters. A nationally syndicated writer, media spokesperson and conference speaker, Angel is known for cutting through jargon and turning big ideas into stories that actually stick.
Armed with a background in journalism and communications, Angel believes great fundraising starts with listening, improves with honesty, and succeeds when people feel something. Her stakeholder-centric approach blends strategy, heart, and a healthy dose of wit—because if you can’t explain your mission clearly, you probably can’t fund it either. She began her career at the University of Alberta in International Projects and Annual Giving, with stops along the way at the MS Society of Alberta & Northwest Territories and the YMCA of Northern Alberta.
Now the Executive Director of 880 CHED Santas Anonymous, Angel spends her days balancing impact, urgency, and joy—often at the same time. She brings real-world examples, practical tools, and a refreshingly human perspective to the craft of telling stories that inspire action (and don’t put donors to sleep).
